COMPLEX’2009 will be held inside the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), Shanghai, China. Please click here to see USST in Google map.

Lunch and Dinner

Complex’09 provides lunches in all the three days during the conference. Lunch cost has been covered by the registration fee. Please kindly note that conference dinners are NOT provided, except for the conference banquet scheduled on the first day (Feb. 23) in the evening. However, there are plenty of canteens and restaurants in USST and its surrounding areas. Finding your favorite food is probably not a difficult job for you.

Conference banquet will be held at the Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel Shanghai.

From Airport to Hotel/USST

Option 1: Taxi (Estimated Cost: 120-150RMB); Recommended
Option 2: Take Maglev Train from PVG to Longyang Road Station, then take a taxi to the hotel (Estimated Cost: 120RMB);
Option 3: Take No.4 Shuttle Bus from Pudong Airport (PVG) and get off at Wu Jiao Chang Station, then take a taxi to the hotel.

If you cannot speak Chinese, the most convenient way to go from the Pudong Airport to the hotel is probably to take a taxi. The distance between the airport and the Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel is about 40km, typically costing about CNY120.00 taxi charge (assuming you arrive at daytime with an average road traffic condition). Showing the first page of the attached file (click here to download it) to your taxi driver may be of some help, esp. if you two cannot talk in any common language.

If you have to take a taxi to go to the conference venue either from your hotel or from the airport, you may like to show the taxi driver the first page of the attached file (click here to download it) if you two cannot talk in any common language. This page may also be of some help for you to get back to the conference room if you get lost on USST campus. At least the students around can easily understand which building you are looking for. Please note that they may not know the English name of the building for our conference.

Exchange Information

Reg the exchange, it can be done at the Int'l Pudong Airport (there are some banks at the airport) or can be done at the Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel Shanghai.

Hotel Reservation

Limited Hotel Accommodation @ Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel Shanghai

Hotel accommodations are provided by Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel Shanghai. Shuttle bus service is available between the Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel and conference venue about half an hour before conference starts each morning and after the afternoon activities. In case you miss the shuttle bus, taxi service from the hotel and to the conference venue costs about CNY17.00. For direction of going to USST, please refer to "From Airport to Hotel/USST".

Note: If you want to reserve a room in this hotel, please kindly email your reservation form to the hotel promptly. The hotel informed us that they can only hold their rooms for us until Jan. 31 and these rooms are running out quickly.

Limited Hotel Accommodation @ Shanghai Phoenix Hotel

We are glad to announce that we have managed to get special rates from another hotel, Shanghai Phoenix Hotel, which is also quite close to the conference venue. Disclaimer: Since Shanghai Phoenix Hotel as a three-star hotel may not be able to provide their services in English smoothly, we recommend this hotel only to those who can speak Chinese.

Tour Information

Since our efforts for arranging a group tour has unfortunately not been successful, we fetch the travel agency's service to your convenience. It is then up to you to decide whether you would like to take such service or not, at your own cost.

There are two tour options the travel agency (named Surrondings International Travel Agency) is providing to us

A night trip on a ferry along the Huang-Pu River for sightseeing on Feb. 24, 2009. Shuttle bus would start from the Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel at around 700pm. Ferry trip will start at about 800pm and end at about 900pm. Shuttle bus service for coming back to the Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel will also be provided. The cost is about CNY90. You are suggested to take dinner before going into the bus since the dinner on the ferry may not be that nice.
A one-day sight-seeing trip in Shanghai on Feb. 26, 2009 (if you are still in Shanghai then). Detailed information is available here.

For both options, staffs from the travel agency will present themselves at the Golden Jade Sunshine Hotel on Feb. 22 from 10am to 10pm, and also at conference venue on Feb. 23 during tea break time to answer your questions and if you are interested, to take your reservations.
